Pregame Cardnextwhistle.net Build a pregame

For officiating crews of 2 to 7

Agree before the first whistle.

The pregame decides how a crew works together: who has which play, how you signal each other, what you do when a coach will not stop talking. Pregame Card gives your crew the questions, keeps your answers, and carries one fix to your next game.

  1. T-45 min

    Arrival

    1. Where and when do we meet before we go in (lot, entrance, locker room)?
    2. Who checks in with the site manager, and who asks where we dress, sit at the break and leave from?
    3. Who checks the playing area and the equipment the game needs before the start?
  2. T-15 min

    Before the start

    1. Who meets the captains or coaches, and what is the one thing we say to them?
    2. Who checks the scorer, timer or book, and how will they tell us they need us?
    3. Who checks the book, the possession arrow and the clock operator at every break?

Every question is a question. The answers are your crew's.

Three officials, three dashed lines. Every line is a conversation your crew settles before the game, not during it.

One game, three moments

Before. After. Next.

  1. T−30

    Pregame

Open the card together, on a phone or printed. Go through the questions out loud and type the answers you want to keep: who covers what, which signals, who handles the bench.

  2. T+15

    Debrief

Each official adds what went well, one fix, and the plays worth another look, by period, clock time and jersey number. Never names.

  3. Next game

    Carry one fix forward

The crew picks one thing to do better. It sits at the top of the next game's pregame, and the next debrief marks it Done, Partly or Not yet.

Built for your sport

Seven pregames, one habit.

Every card has the questions every crew needs, plus a section for the sport. Outdoor games add the weather questions, youth games add a teaching question. Position names are common labels you can change to match your manual.

The Crew Room

A private page your crew shares all season.

  • One link for the whole crew. No accounts, no email, no app to install.
  • Each game keeps its positions, the crew's answers and every debrief note.
  • Two of you can save different answers at the same time; neither wipes the other.
  • The season trail shows every carry-forward and how it went.

What we keep, and what we never ask for.

Initials, not names
Officials appear as 1 to 4 letters. We ask for jersey numbers, never names, in notes about plays.
No accounts, no email
A Crew Room is a private link. We keep only a one-way fingerprint of its code, never the code itself.
Nothing public
Rooms are never listed or indexed. Only people holding the link see them.
Delete any time
Delete a game or the whole room in one step. Rooms nobody opens for 400 days delete themselves.

Questions officials ask

Is this a rulebook or a mechanics manual?

No. Every item is a question for your crew to answer together. Rules and mechanics come from your association's books and your assignor; Pregame Card only makes sure the crew talks about them before the game.

Will the questions match how my association works?

They are written to fit any association: they ask who does what, never tell you. Position names are common labels and you can change them. With the Crew Pass your crew can add up to 20 questions of its own to every pregame.

Who can see our Crew Room?

Anyone you give the link to, and nobody else. There is no search and no list of rooms. Treat the link like a locker combination: share it with your crew only.

Can we use it on a phone at the site?

Yes. Every page is built for a phone first, and the pregame card prints cleanly for crews that like paper.

What does it cost?

The pregame builder is free. A Crew Room is free for 3 games. The Crew Pass is $1.95 a month or $19.50 a year, and a 3-day Weekend Pass is $1.00. During the preview everything is free and nothing is charged.
